Speaking during a recent episode of The Honest Bunch Podcast, Shatta Wale claimed that he welcomed Burna Boy with open arms during one of the Nigerian star’s visits to Ghana.He said he ensured Burna Boy had a comfortable stay by providing accommodation, transportation, and other forms of hospitality throughout the trip.However, the Ghanaian musician alleged that the situation changed after he fell out with some members of his former team.
Alleged rumours strained relationship
According to Shatta Wale, the former associates allegedly spread false claims to people close to him in an attempt to damage his personal and professional relationships.He claimed they told Burna Boy that he had been involved romantically with the Nigerian singer’s girlfriend during the visit to Ghana.Shatta Wale said Burna Boy allegedly believed the claims, leading to a breakdown in communication between them.
Attempts to reconnect reportedly failed
The dancehall star further revealed that he made several efforts to reach Burna Boy after the Nigerian artist’s international career gained momentum.According to him, his phone calls and messages reportedly went unanswered.Shatta Wale also claimed that he contacted Burna Boy’s mother and manager, Bose Ogulu, in an attempt to resolve the misunderstanding, but said he was unable to reconnect with the Grammy-winning singer.Despite the fallout, Shatta Wale said he remains happy about Burna Boy’s global success.
